How do I book a campsite, float trip, or cabin?

Where is your campground located in Missouri?
We’re located on the James River in Galena, in the heart of southwest Missouri's Ozarks near Springfield and Branson.
Do you allow day visitors or walk-ins?
Walk-ins are welcome based on availability. Reservations are recommended for all accommodations.
What activities can I do besides camping and floating?
Guests can enjoy fishing, bird watching and wildlife spotting, hiking, or relaxing by the river. We’re just 30 minutes from restaurants, shopping and activities in Branson, Missouri, where you can see shows, visit Silver Dollar City Amusement Park, the Aquarium at the Boardwalk, and more!
Do you offer group packages or host retreats?
Yes! Custom float and stay packages are available for your group whether it's a youth group, family reunion, sports team bachelor/bachelorette parties, corporate retreat or other event.
Where is Horsecreek Ranch & Retreat?
Horsecreek Ranch & Retreat, along with Float the James, is located at 2570 Horsecreek Road, Galena, MO 65656.
From Highway 176, take Horsecreek Road towards HL Kerr Access (and the former Camp Tomahawk).
Follow the signage to the private road entrance and you'll see our camp office on the left just before the Horsecreek Ranch gate, where you'll stop to check in and get directions to parking.
Where do I park?
Parking depends on your itinerary. Guests should check in at the Welcome Center to get directions to parking
What is provided when I book a float with Float the James?
• Paddle board with a stand up paddle, 4 person heavy-duty rafts, or heavy-duty river tubes.
• Our standard boards have varying weight limits up to 485 lbs. Up to 2 adults can use one board.
• Our Megalodon board holds up to 1050 lbs and 6 guests and includes a 2nd paddle.
• Personal flotation devices (these are not required to be worn, but per MO law must be available for each person on a board our paddle boards and rafts).
• Bus ride to the private drop-in.
• Parking is available at the end of both our 1.5 hour and 3 hour floats, so you'll end and be at your vehicle!
Is alcohol permitted?
Alcohol is permitted in our campground and on the river, we require that our guests follow all state laws regarding consumption and have a sober ride arranged.
No glass bottles of any sort are allowed on the patios, beach, or river.
What if there's bad weather or the river is too high?
If we deem it unsafe to camp or float (water levels, lightening, or other inclement weather) we will attempt to notify you prior to reschedule. If you're unable to reschedule, we will issue a refund minus our card processing fees.
If you choose not to camp or float, we will do our best to reschedule with adequate notice; no refunds will be issued.
