To prevent the spread of invasive pests and diseases, we do not allow outside firewood from more than 50 miles away. Bundles are available for purchase at our Welcome Center!

Our bathhouse is currently under construction, anticipated opening
by Memorial Day Weekend. Reserved guests will be notified if
construction is delayed. Porta Potties will be available on-site.
Horsecreek Ranch & Retreat - FAQ
Do I need a reservation to camp at Horsecreek Ranch?
Walk-ins are welcome if space allows, but we strongly recommend reservations - especially on weekends and holidays.
What is check-in/check-out time for tent camping?
Check-in is after 3 PM, and check-out is by 11 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request.
Are there quiet hours at the campground?
Yes, quiet hours are from 10 PM to 7 AM to ensure a peaceful experience for all campers.
Can I cook at my campsite?
Yes! Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. You’re welcome to bring camp stoves and coolers.
Is ice available for campers?
Yes, ice is sold at our welcome center along with snacks, drinks, and basic camping supplies.
What makes Horsecreek Ranch unique among Missouri campgrounds?
We offer shaded riverside campsites, direct access to the James River, nearby float trips, and a laid-back Ozarks vibe.
Is there RV camping at Horsecreek Ranch?
RVs and campers are welcome to boondock, but we currently do not have hookups or dump stations.
